Family-run, fifteen years in El Monte. Mike Johnson started Foundation Concrete pouring driveways out of a single pickup truck in 2011. His office manager — also María, the bilingual one — has been at the desk since the second year. Most of the crew has been with us five years or more.
We serve the inland San Gabriel Valley: El Monte, Rosemead, San Gabriel, Alhambra, Monterey Park, Arcadia, Temple City, South El Monte, Pico Rivera, Montebello, El Sereno, and south Pasadena. If you're outside that radius, call anyway — Mike decides job by job.
What we do best: driveways and patios, pool decks, slabs and pads for backyard projects (AC units, sheds, hot tubs, BBQ islands), retaining walls under four feet, repair and resurface, and our specialty — stamped, integral-colored, and exposed-aggregate decorative concrete.
What we don't do: commercial parking lots, ADU foundations that need engineered plans, or retaining walls over four feet (those need a structural engineer — we can refer you). Mike will tell you straight at the estimate.
One- to four-car residential driveways. Tear-out and replace, or new pour on prepared ground. Standard broom finish; decorative options on request.
Stamped concrete in flagstone, slate, or brick patterns. Integral color or surface stain. Exposed aggregate for traction. The visual upgrade most contractors don't offer.
HVAC pads, shed slabs, hot tub bases, BBQ island foundations. Walkways and sidewalks. Whatever needs flat, level, structural concrete.
Front-yard and side-yard retaining walls up to four feet. Steps, stairs, and small grade transitions. Anything over four feet, we'll point you to an engineer.
Cracked driveways, sunken slabs, trip hazards, settlement repair. Decorative overlays and resurfacing on sound substrate. Tear-out and haul-away.
